Swedish Air Force confirm order for 38 RFD 18R Helirafts
The Swedish Air Force has just confirmed an order for 38 x RFD Beaufort 18R Helirafts. These new rafts are to replace directly the existing 18R rafts that have seen nearly 20 years service in the extreme working environment of Hercules C130 service. Stored in wing compartments, each C130 aircraft uses four rafts.
The decision of the Air Force to replace the existing rafts with like for like equipment, is testimony to the durability of the RFD Beaufort Helirafts in what is regarded to be some of the harshest operating conditions.
