RFD Marin Ark Marine Evacuation System shortlisted for Seatrade Awards 2012

The Survitec Group is proud to announce that the RFD MarinArk Marine Evacuation System has been shortlisted in the Safety at Sea Category of the Seatrade Awards 2012.

 

The Seatrade Awards, founded in 1989, is a global maritime award scheme, recognising and rewarding companies who have demonstrated innovative solutions for safe, efficient and environmentally friendly shipping, whilst complying with the objectives of the International Maritime Organization.  The Safety at Sea Category Award, is sponsored by Lloyd’s Register and honours ‘significant technical or procedural improvements leading to reduction of risk to human life at sea’.

The RFD MarinArk is a Mass Evacuation System (MES) designed to safely and effectively  manage the mass evacuation of hundreds of passengers at sea.  It is the world’s safest and fastest method of transferring passengers and crew from the vessel into liferafts in the case of an emergency.  One simple release action activates the deployment of the system, which is fully inflated and operational within 90 seconds of deployment.  The liferafts are fully reversible, ensuring MarinArk inflates upright every time and evacuation chutes are fully enclosed ensuring no passenger is exposed to the elements at any time during evacuation.

 

The RFD MarinArk MES have been exhaustively tested and validated in severe sea conditions and is fully type-approved to the latest (IMO)/SOLAS Chapter III regulations and Marine Equipment Directive. 

 

The 24th annual Seatrade Awards Ceremony Dinner will take place on Monday 14th May 2012 at The Guildhall in London.  Entries to the Seatrade Awards are judged by an independent committee of influential industry executives and announced on the evening. 

 

Over 350 of the maritime industry’s key leaders, royal guests, dignitaries, ship owners, ship builders, bankers, insurers, brokers, maritime associations, lawyers and government bodies will unite to acknowledge companies and individuals who have made outstanding contributions.
