Survitec Group is pleased to announce it is the main sponsors for this year’s 6th Annual Safety at Sea Awards. The awards, due to be held in London on the HMS Belfast June 14th, celebrate the role safety managers and manufacturers play in protecting life at sea across the international maritime safety market.
Simon Withey, CEO of the Survitec Group explained their decision “The Safety at Sea ethos is similar to our own. We are both dedicated to promoting and investigating all safety and survival issues facing the maritime industry. It seemed only natural that we would combine our shared interests and support the Safety at Sea Awards”
In addition this year the Survitec Group has chosen to have its own award at the ceremony. The Survitec Group Award for Engineering Excellence will be given to the company which has shown the most innovative or advanced engineering practices over the last year in the development of products, equipment or processes which have greatly advanced safety at sea.
Simon Withey continued “In November 2011, our Belfast based manufacturing business RFD Beaufort won the “Most Improved Company” at the Manufacturing Excellence awards, highlighting our dedication to quality within our engineering and manufacturing practices. We believe that it is only through commitment to engineering and manufacturing excellence that we can improve not only our product offering to our customers but also generate new thinking and innovation. We are in the business of saving lives; we need to achieve the highest standards in everything we do to ensure our customers know they can confidently put their life in our hands. We know that our expectations of our engineering processes are among the highest in the industry and we would like to recognise other companies who strive for the same level of distinction.”
Entrants will be subjected to scrutiny from the Safety at Sea panel before a shortlist will be sent to the Survitec Group to pick the overall winner. Entries can be made exclusively to the Survitec Group Award although entries in other categories are also eligible.
