Survitec Group Awarded Embraer KC-390 Contract

We are pleased to announce that Survitec Group has been selected by Embraer to provide an integrated liferaft system and maritime emergency locator beacons for the KC390 programme.

Eduardo Bonini Santos Pinto, Senior Vice President Operations & COO, Embraer Defence and Security commented, “This programme marks Embraer’s first step into military transport aircraft, and we required a partner to develop and supply a complex integrated life raft system that is externally deployable. Survitec’s proven performance with such solutions, coupled with a best value, sustainable and low risk proposal secured the contract award.”

The Embraer KC390 is one of the most modern and complete aircraft in its category. Survitec will supply its RFD Aerolite 30 type liferaft with three liferafts being fitted per aircraft to satisfy crew and passenger payload requirements. Two key attributes of the system are ease of boarding and the Automatic Canopy Erection which offers enhanced survivability. These distinguished the Survitec solution from other alternatives.

David Griffiths, Vice President of Defence Sales at Survitec Group, added, “We are delighted to have been awarded this contract which demonstrates our broad range of defence and aviation capabilities and expands an important geography for Survitec. We provided the best value proposition to Embraer and offered a design solution without compromise.

We have a long standing and successful relationship with Embraer and we are looking forward to developing this further in a new region."

Survitec has worked with Embraer and the Brazilian Air Force for a number of years, notably on the Super Tucano training platform on the provision of single seat liferafts. This new development forms a key part of Survitec’s future growth plans to expand its geographical footprint in Latin America.
