Marine Evacuation Systems

First devised and created by RFD in 1979, Marine Evacuation Systems are now the preferred choice of life saving appliance on many large passenger and cruise vessels today. The Survitec Group currently offers three MES, each designed with various markets and vessels in mind.

RFD Marin Ark – a totally unique design comprising of four fully reversible 100+ person capacity liferafts, two fully enclosed telescopic descent chutes and one stowage unit, Marin Ark is the preferred choice of MES for the biggest names in the cruise industry today. With over 58% share of this market, Marin Ark has been successfully installed on numerous new and existing vessels of all types and sizes, throughout the world. The success of this product to date has led to the development of a second system which is due to be launched in early 2009.

DSB CAT-slide –This MES is the perfect solution for smaller ferries and passenger craft. Designed specifically for low freeboard vessels, the system allows for both open reversible and fully enclosed canopied liferafts to be integrated with a slide to ensure rapid and safe evacuation in an emergency situation.
